Trump gives Iran a 48-hour ultimatum, Tehran's response is swift!
US President Donald Trump has warned that if Iran does not fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, they will target the country's power plants. A response to Trump's threat came from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
US President Donald Trump has issued a very stern warning to Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz. In a statement on his social media account, Trump announced that if Iran does not fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, they will target the country's power plants.
Trump stated, "If Iran does not fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours from now, without any threats, the US will strike and destroy various Iranian power plants, starting with the largest ones."
SWIFT RESPONSE FROM TEHRAN
Tehran's response to Trump's threat to target the country's power plants if Iran does not fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours was not delayed. In a statement from the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), it was emphasized that attacks on US energy infrastructure would be met with a similar response, stating, "As we have stated before, if the security of Iran's fuel and energy infrastructure is violated by the enemy, all US-owned energy, information technology, and desalination infrastructure in the region will be targeted."
IRAN HAD ANNOUNCED THE STRAIT WAS NOT CLOSED
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had stated that the Strait of Hormuz was not completely closed, saying, "We have not closed the strait. It is open." Despite this, Araghchi had stated that they had imposed restrictions on the use of the strait for ships belonging to countries that support attacks against Iran. Araghchi had told some countries, such as Japan, that would be in contact with the Tehran administration, that they were ready to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
