Trump: New naval fleet on its way to Iran

US President Donald Trump's speech at an event in Iowa highlighted the topics of Iran and the midterm elections. While Trump pointed to a new deployment of forces in the section where he described military steps against Iran, he emphasized the critical nature of the midterms in domestic politics and called on his voters to head to the polls. During his speech, Trump received loud applause from his supporters after asking them, "Should I run for president for a fourth time?" Before arriving at the venue where he would speak, Trump stopped at a roadside restaurant in Iowa. During his restaurant visit, he reminded Americans of the midterms, warning, "If the Democrats take back the House, they will try to impeach me."

TRUMP'S REMARKABLE STATEMENT ON IRAN

Trump made his most striking remarks regarding Iran through claims of military operations and new deployments. While describing the operation against Iran's nuclear capacity, he said, "In June, in Operation Midnight Hammer, we destroyed Iran's nuclear capacity." Arguing that this step was overdue, he stated, "People had been waiting 22 years to do this. They were a month away, we had to do it." Pointing to new military activity toward Iran, Trump said, "By the way, another beautiful fleet is heading toward Iran right now. We'll see. I hope they make a deal, we don't want to have to use it. This fleet is very powerful." Trump also targeted the Tehran administration with the words, "They should have made a deal the first time, then they would have a country."

PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION AND MIDTERM ELECTION CALL

In the domestic politics section of his speech, Trump reiterated his claims regarding the previous election process. Regarding the election results, he said, "We won all seven swing states." Trump made the upcoming midterm elections one of the main political topics of his speech. Stating, "We must win the midterms," Trump added, "If we lose the midterms, you will lose many of the things we have talked about, and that will lead to very bad things." Addressing voters for both the House of Representatives and the Senate, Trump said, "That is why I am here, we are launching the midterm campaign."
