Trump reiterates Hormuz call to countries

US President Donald Trump reiterated his call to countries regarding the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the security of the strait should be provided "by the countries that supply oil from there."

In his post, touching upon US-Israel attacks on Iran, Trump claimed, "The US has defeated and completely devastated Iran both militarily and economically, as well as in every other respect."

Trump commented, "Countries that supply oil through the Strait of Hormuz must ensure the security of this passage," adding that the US would also provide significant assistance to these countries.

Using the expression, "The US will also work in coordination with these countries to ensure that everything proceeds quickly, smoothly, and well," Trump emphasized that this process should have been a team effort from the beginning, but that it "will be so" from now on.

The US President expressed the view that the effort to be put forth in this direction would bring the world together on the common ground of "harmony, security, and lasting peace."

In a statement made earlier today, Trump had also mentioned China, France, Japan, South Korea, and Britain, saying he hoped these countries would send warships to the Strait of Hormuz.
