Trump responds to claims of nuclear attack on Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that there is no possibility of using nuclear weapons against Iran, while emphasizing that military pressure will continue. Trump reiterated his message to the Tehran administration that time is running out for a peace agreement.
Tensions between Iran and the U.S. continue to be one of the main topics on the international agenda. Especially following statements made by Trump in recent weeks, serious debates had emerged regarding whether nuclear weapons would be used against Iran. U.S. President Trump made a clear statement on the matter during a press conference at the White House yesterday.
Responding to a journalist's question, "Are you considering using nuclear weapons in Iran?", Trump said the following:
"Why would I use nuclear weapons? We have devastated them completely in a conventional way without needing nuclear weapons. No, I would not use them because the use of nuclear weapons should never be permitted by anyone."
In his remarks, Trump pointed out that time is running out for Iran to reach a peace agreement with the U.S., and he issued another warning by pointing to his "watch" regarding the deal. Furthermore, Trump stated that he has ordered the destruction of all Iranian vessels detected laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
