Trump responds to Elon Musk claims

Speaking at an event in Phoenix, the capital of the U.S. state of Arizona, Trump argued that the claims regarding Musk's growing influence were a "fabrication" put forward by his political opponents.

Trump denied the allegations that he had "handed over the presidency to Musk," pointing out that Musk was not born in the U.S. and is therefore ineligible to serve as president.

The first criticism of the budget bill in the U.S. came from Musk, who was chosen as co-director of Trump's Department of Government Efficiency, which led to claims that Musk's influence was increasing.

The U.S. Congress had approved the first temporary budget bill in September to prevent a government shutdown due to lack of funding for the 2025 fiscal year, which began on October 1.

The temporary budget, which was signed into law by U.S. President Joe Biden, was intended to provide funding for the government until December 20.

With only days left until that date, Republicans and Democrats had reached an agreement earlier in the week on a budget bill that would provide funding for the government until March.

However, Trump opposed the agreed-upon temporary budget bill, calling it "ridiculous and extraordinarily expensive," and called on members of Congress to reject the bill.
