Trump says he is 'not pushing' for Gaza plan
In an interview with Fox News, U.S. President Donald Trump addressed his Gaza plan, stating, "This is a great place. I don't know why Israel gave it up."
U.S. President Donald Trump made controversial remarks to Fox News regarding the Gaza Strip. Expressing surprise at the opposition from Jordan and Egypt to his plan "aimed at the displacement of Palestinians in the region," Trump said, "We pay Jordan and Egypt billions of dollars a year, and I was a little surprised that they said that."
Noting that his Gaza plan is the "one that really works," Trump stated, "But I'm not pushing it, I'm just going to sit back and advise. Then the U.S. will own the region. There will be no Hamas, there will be development, and you will start everything over with a clean slate."
Claiming that if the people in the Gaza Strip were given the choice, they would want to leave the region, Trump said, "This is a great place. I don't know why Israel gave it up. Why did they give it up?"
