Trump's target this time is the Pope: 'He needs to get his act together'
U.S. President Donald Trump has harshly criticized Vatican Head of State Pope Leo XIV following his anti-war rhetoric, stating, "I don't want a Pope who doesn't mind Iran having nuclear weapons. As a Pope, Leo needs to get his act together, use his common sense, stop trying to pander to the radical left, and focus on being a great Pope rather than trying to be a politician." Trump claimed that Pope Leo XIV was brought to office because he was against him, adding, "If I weren't in the White House, Leo wouldn't be in the Vatican."
U.S. President Donald Trump has harshly criticized Vatican Head of State Pope Leo XIV following his anti-war rhetoric.
In a post on the Truth social media platform, Trump stated, "Pope Leo is weak on crime and terrible on foreign policy." Suggesting that Pope Leo XIV spoke of "fear of the Trump administration," Trump criticized him by saying, "He doesn't talk about the fear experienced by priests, pastors, the Catholic Church, and all other Christian organizations who were arrested for holding services in churches during the Covid-19 pandemic."
Emphasizing that Pope Leo XIV likes his brother Louis more because of his support for him, Trump said, "Because Louis is a total MAGA (Make America Great Again). He gets it, but Leo doesn't."
"I DON'T WANT A POPE WHO CRITICIZES THE U.S. PRESIDENT"
Implying that Pope Leo XIV has adopted an anti-American stance, Trump said, "I don't want a Pope who doesn't mind Iran having nuclear weapons. I don't want a Pope who finds it terrible that America attacks Venezuela, which sends massive amounts of drugs to our country and, even worse, empties its prisons into our country, including murderers, drug dealers, and criminals. And I don't want a Pope who criticizes a U.S. president who has achieved record-level drops in crime rates, created the greatest stock market values in history, and did all this by being elected by an overwhelming majority."
"IF I WEREN'T IN THE WHITE HOUSE, LEO WOULDN'T BE IN THE VATICAN"
Describing Pope Leo XIV's rise to office as a "shocking surprise," Trump said, "He wasn't on any list to become Pope. He was brought there by the Church just because he was American. Because they thought that would be the best way to deal with President Donald Trump. If I weren't in the White House, Leo wouldn't be in the Vatican."
"HE IS DOING GREAT HARM TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH"
Noting that he is not comfortable with Pope Leo XIV being "weak on crime and nuclear weapons," Trump criticized him, saying, "And his meetings with Obama sympathizers like David Axelrod, who is a leftist loser and one of those who wanted churchgoers and clergy arrested." Calling on Pope Leo XIV to stay out of politics, Trump assessed, "Leo, as a Pope, needs to get his act together, use his common sense, stop trying to pander to the radical left, and focus on being a great Pope rather than trying to be a politician. This situation is doing great harm to him and, more importantly, to the Catholic Church."
POPE LEO XIV HAD USED ANTI-WAR RHETORIC
Pope Leo XIV used anti-war rhetoric during a mass held yesterday, describing the situation leading to war as a "delusion of omnipotence." Pope Leo XIV stated, "Enough of idolizing oneself and money! Enough of the show of force! Enough of war! True power manifests itself in serving life." It was alleged that Pope Leo XIV was criticizing Trump without naming him.
