Trump threatens Iran: Your country will be wiped off the map
Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, suggesting that Iran might be behind the assassination attempts against him, stated, "We are being directly threatened by Iran. If I were you, I would tell them this: If you attack any former presidents or presidential candidates in any way, your country will be wiped off the map."
Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump targeted Iran during a campaign event in North Carolina. One day after receiving a briefing from US intelligence regarding "real and specific assassination threats from Iran," Trump threatened to "wipe Iran's cities off the map."
Trump stated, "If I were president, I would tell the threatening country, which in this case is Iran, that if you do any harm to this person, we will wipe your biggest cities and your country off the map. I would tell you that we will wipe you off the map." Trump added, "As you know, there have been two assassination attempts on my life, and Iran may or may not be involved. It probably has something to do with Iran. But I still don't know."
Pointing out that President Masoud Pezeshkian is in New York for the 79th United Nations (UN) General Assembly, Trump said, "By the way, the Iranian president is in our country this week and is being protected by a large security force. Despite this, they are threatening a former president of our country and the leading candidate to be the next president of the United States."
In a statement he posted on social media earlier today, Trump had said that Iran had made a few moves, failed, but would try again.
In the statement he published on his own platform, "Truth Social," Trump wrote that the entire US military was "watching and waiting."
ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS
Trump was subjected to an armed attack at a campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, and was wounded in his right ear. One rally attendee lost their life in the incident, and the attacker was neutralized by the Secret Service.
The second assassination attempt against Trump, who was subjected to two such attempts within two months, occurred on September 15 while he was playing golf at his own golf course in Florida.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that a person found in the bushes outside the golf course was spotted aiming a rifle at Trump and that the suspect was taken into custody near the golf course.
