Trump threatens Venezuela over prisoner repatriation
In a statement demanding that the Venezuelan government accept prisoners the U.S. wishes to deport, U.S. President Donald Trump said, "These individuals were forcibly sent to the U.S. by Venezuela. Take them back immediately, or the price you pay will be incalculable."
U.S. President Donald Trump has demanded, in harsh terms, that the Venezuelan government accept prisoners the U.S. intends to deport.
In a statement on his social media account, Trump said, "We are demanding that Venezuela immediately accept back their prisoners, including those from the worst mental institutions in the world, and those in mental hospitals.
These individuals were forcibly sent to the U.S. by the Venezuelan 'administration.' Because of these 'monsters,' thousands of people have been severely injured or even lost their lives.
Take them back immediately, or the price you pay will be incalculable," he stated.
The U.S. President did not provide further details regarding the prisoners mentioned in his statement or the specific steps he plans to take against the Venezuelan government.
