Trump warns Iran to 'move quickly'
US President Donald Trump stated that his administration has presented a proposal to Iran regarding a nuclear deal, saying, "A proposal has been made. More importantly, they know they need to move quickly, otherwise something bad will happen."
US President Donald Trump has concluded his four-day tour of the oil and natural gas-rich Middle East. Trump departed from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, which was the final stop of his tour, aboard Air Force One.
Trump answered questions from journalists on the plane. When asked, "Do you think Netanyahu can rescue the hostages?" Trump replied, "I don't know. We'll find out very soon. They're not in good shape. Some are in better shape than others. It depends a little bit on where they are, but we will work with them to get them out."
"WE WANT SYRIA TO BE SUCCESSFUL"
Trump stated that recognizing the new government in Syria, led by President Ahmed al-Shara, and lifting the sanctions imposed on the country was the "right thing" to do. Saying that he did not consult his ally Israel on the US decision to recognize Syria's new government, Trump said, "I didn't ask them about it. I thought it was the right thing to do. I was very much appreciated for doing it. We want Syria to be successful. It has been in a mess for 10 years. These were very painful. When you look at the sanctions, they were really brutal and I think they would have had zero chance of success. This way they have a chance, and their leader is a strong person, young and very energetic, he wants to do a good job."
"OTHERWISE SOMETHING BAD WILL HAPPEN"
Trump said that a proposal had been presented to Iran, with whom negotiations are ongoing due to disputes over its rapidly advancing nuclear program, and that Iran needs to move quickly.
Trump responded to journalists' questions of "Has the US presented an official proposal to Iran? Did Steve Witkoff convey this?" by saying, "A proposal has been made. More importantly, they know they need to move quickly, otherwise something bad will happen."
