Trump: We are close to peace in Gaza

US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met for dinner at the White House.

Trump and Netanyahu held their third meeting of the year at the White House.

Answering journalists' questions at the dinner, Trump said regarding ceasefire efforts in Gaza, "We are on the path to peace in Gaza. We are very hopeful. Hamas also wants a ceasefire. There is no obstacle to an Israel-Hamas ceasefire," and noted that "things are progressing very well." Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, said, "We have an opportunity for peace in Gaza."

Netanyahu stated, "We are working with the US to find countries that will offer a better future to the Palestinians."

Regarding the crisis with Iran and the 12-day war, Trump said, "I hope we don't have to launch another attack on Iran. The nuclear tumors are gone. We think everything in the Middle East will calm down. We have planned Iran talks. Iran wants to talk to us. The meeting could take place next week."

Trump said they would send more weapons to Ukraine.

Stating, "I end wars," Trump added, "Putin upsets me."

Trump said, "Shara should be given a chance in Syria."

Netanyahu had also held a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Donald Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, before meeting with Trump.

NOMINATED FOR NOBEL

Meanwhile, before the meeting, Netanyahu gave Trump a letter regarding proposals to award him the "Nobel Peace Prize."
