Trump's controversial claim: 'Israel will cease to exist'

Former US President Donald Trump joined the annual meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Las Vegas, Nevada, via a live video link.

Addressing donors at the coalition, Trump argued that if Harris becomes president, "Israel will no longer exist," stating, "If they win, Israel is gone."

Trump, who sought votes from Jewish voters and expressed confusion over those who support the Democrats, commented that Jewish Americans who vote for Democrats "should have their heads examined."

Trump also stated that if he had been elected president in the last election, the attacks carried out by Hamas against Israel on October 7 would not have occurred.

In a statement released by Harris's campaign team in response to Trump's remarks, it was noted that Trump is "openly disparaging" Jewish Americans and that he "would turn his back on Israel in a heartbeat if it suited his personal interests."

As the race between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump intensifies ahead of the US presidential election on November 5, the outcome of the election will be determined by the results in the so-called "swing states": Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia.
