Trump's Hormuz move: 'Project Freedom' begins
US President Donald Trump has announced that they will launch a new operation called "Project Freedom" on Monday morning to rescue commercial vessels belonging to neutral countries waiting in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Washington administration is taking steps to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels from various countries that are stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, independent of the military tensions between Iran and the region. In a social media post, US President Donald Trump announced that this initiative, named "Project Freedom," will begin as of Monday morning, Middle East time.
Trump stated that many countries from different parts of the world, which are not directly involved in the tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran, have requested assistance because their ships are stranded in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said, "For the good of Iran, the Middle East, and the US, we have guaranteed these countries that their ships will be safely removed from this bottleneck. This way, they will be able to continue their trade freely."
Pointing out that the operation primarily has humanitarian goals, Trump emphasized that the ships, where food supplies are dwindling and the crew is beginning to face health challenges, must be removed urgently.
Trump made the following statements: "This process, namely Project Freedom, will begin on Monday morning, Middle East time." "My representatives are having very positive talks with Iran, and these talks could yield very positive results for everyone."
Furthermore, Trump warned that if Iran interferes with this operation, which aims to provide humanitarian assistance, the American side will respond decisively.
