Trump's remarks on Iran: I don't want that

U.S. President Donald Trump spoke at an official dinner held in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Addressing the indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the U.S., Trump stated that Iranian leaders need to take action as soon as possible.

Thanking the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for his support in the process, Trump noted that there are two paths in the negotiations with Iran. Trump stated, "Friendly and unfriendly. The unfriendly path involves violence, and I don't want that. That has been clear from the very beginning. But Iran also needs to take action," emphasizing that it is unacceptable for Iran to possess nuclear weapons.

Addressing Al Thani, Trump said, "I hope you can help me with Iran, because this is a dangerous situation and we want to do the right thing." Expressing his hope that Iran understands the support offered by Qatar, Trump emphasized that he prefers the diplomatic path over the tougher route that many people desire.
