Trump's rival Nikki Haley withdraws from presidential race

Speaking at a press conference in Charleston, South Carolina, Haley said, "The time has come to suspend my campaign. I said I wanted Americans to have their voices heard. I have done that. I have no regrets. And while I will no longer be a candidate, I will not stop using my voice for the things I believe in."

Haley, who did not offer her full endorsement to Trump, wished him luck and, quoting former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, said, "Never just follow the crowd. Always make up your own mind."

"I HOPE HE DOES"

Haley stated, "It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in and outside of our party who did not support him, and I hope he does."

Haley, the former Governor of South Carolina, served as the Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) during Trump's presidency.

Yesterday, on Super Tuesday, when the highest number of primaries were held across the country, Trump won the primaries in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia, while Haley won the primary in Vermont.

The presidential election in the US on November 5 is expected to be a rematch of the 2020 race between President Joe Biden and Trump.
