Trump's warning to Iran: 'If things don't go well, we could return to the Freedom Project'
US President Donald Trump stated that if an agreement cannot be reached with Iran, the "Freedom Project" operation, which aims to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, could be relaunched with a broader scope. Trump said, "If things don't go well, we could return to the Freedom Project, but in that case, it would be 'Freedom Project +'. That is, it would be a version where other measures are added to the Freedom Project."
US President Donald Trump made remarks regarding the current agenda to members of the press at the White House. Stating that they expect Iran to respond shortly to the US proposal aimed at ending the conflicts, Trump said, "I think we will get an answer from them tonight."
When asked whether Iran was intentionally dragging out the negotiations, Trump replied, "We will find out soon."
"FREEDOM PROJECT +" MESSAGE
Stating that if an agreement cannot be reached with Iran, the "Freedom Project" operation, which aims to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, could be relaunched in a more comprehensive manner, Trump said, "If an agreement is not signed and the process is not completed, we will follow a different path. I think the Freedom Project is a good project, but there are other ways to achieve this. If things don't go well, we could return to the Freedom Project, but in that case, it would be 'Freedom Project Plus'. That is, it would be a version where other measures are added to the Freedom Project."
TRUMP'S ASSESSMENT ON THE CEASEFIRE
Touching upon the 3-day ceasefire declared between Russia and Ukraine, Trump said it would be positive if the ceasefire lasted longer. Stating that the war has had severe consequences in terms of loss of life, Trump said, "In terms of human life, this is the worst thing since World War II. 25 thousand young soldiers every month. This is madness."
