Turkey and 7 countries react to Israel's Gaza Plan

The foreign ministers of Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have reacted with a joint statement to Israel's refusal to implement the Gaza Plan proposed by US President Donald Trump.

The statement noted that Israel's rejection of the roadmap aimed at completing the implementation of the plan, which was approved by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and its rejection of a Palestinian State were condemned.

The ministers emphasized that Israel's stance directly jeopardizes the implementation of the Gaza Plan and undermines joint efforts for a just and lasting peace.

CALL FOR IMMEDIATE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PLAN

The joint statement expressed that the plan, which has been accepted by Palestinian groups, is the result of comprehensive mediation efforts by Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, the US, the High Representative for Gaza, and the Peace Council. The ministers noted that the plan represents a "vital turning point" for the reconstruction of Gaza.

The ministers stated that Israel will bear "direct and full responsibility" for any consequences that may arise, including the deterioration of the situation on the ground and the disruption of the end of the war in Gaza, due to Israel's rejection, obstruction, delay, or failure to comply with the plan.

The statement also drew attention to the importance of the US's continuous and active participation in fulfilling the commitments under the plan. It was emphasized that the plan must be fully and immediately implemented to address the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, ensure security and stability, and begin the reconstruction and recovery process.

The ministers declared that a lasting peace must be based on the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and statehood in accordance with international law. It was stated that all attempts, including unilateral steps aimed at preventing the establishment of a Palestinian state, are rejected.

The joint statement indicated that a comprehensive peace can only be achieved through the implementation of a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders. The ministers also called on the Peace Council to take "urgent and concrete measures" to preserve the integrity of the plan and prevent any obstruction to its implementation.
