Turkey warns Israel: 'There will be serious consequences'
Following reports that Israel intends to target Hamas members living outside of Palestine, including in Turkey, Israeli intelligence services have been warned that any illegal activities on Turkish soil will have serious consequences.
The American newspaper The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel is planning assassinations targeting Hamas members living outside of Palestine.
The report alleged that Israeli intelligence units would target Hamas members in Lebanon, Turkey, and Qatar.
Ronen Bar, the director of the Israeli internal security service Shin Bet (Shabak), stated in a recording broadcast on the Israeli state television channel KAN that they are "determined to kill Hamas leaders all over the world, including in Qatar, Turkey, and Lebanon, even if it takes years."
NECESSARY WARNINGS ISSUED
Turkish intelligence sources stated that, in response to reports in the international press and statements by Israeli officials regarding Israel's intention to target Hamas members living outside of Palestine, including in Turkey, the necessary warnings have been issued to the relevant parties, and that any action to the contrary would have serious consequences.
Officials recalled that various intelligence services have attempted to carry out illegal activities on the territory of the Republic of Turkey in the past, and emphasized that no such operations by any service will be permitted.
