Turkish activists detained by Israel return home
18 Turkish activists who were detained by Israel have been brought to Istanbul on a private flight.
Activists who were detained by Israel following an intervention in international waters against the Freedom Flotilla, which set out to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, have returned to Turkey. A total of 94 activists, including 18 Turkish citizens who were on the Conscience Ship that was seized by Israel, were evacuated on a private flight.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Öncü Keçeli stated in his announcement, "Our 18 citizens who were detained by Israel are being brought to our country via a special flight."
Following this statement, the Turkish Airlines plane carrying the activists landed at Istanbul Airport.
