Ukraine launches intense missile attack on Crimea at midnight

Mikhail Razvozhayev, the so-called Governor of Sevastopol, announced in a statement on his social media account that an air raid siren was sounded at 22:44 Moscow time. 

Stating that all air defense systems in Sevastopol were operational, Razvozhayev noted that the military was working to destroy the targets used by Ukraine in its air attacks. 

Reporting that the Russian military destroyed more than 10 Ukrainian rockets in the air, Razvozhayev stated that 1 child and 1 woman were injured.

Noting that debris from the air fell in various parts of the city and caused damage, Razvozhayev used the expression, "Smoke is rising in Sevastopol and the Southern bays."

It was also reported that the Crimean Bridge was closed for a period of time.

Video footage was shared on social media accounts indicating that missile attacks were carried out against Russian military zones in Crimea.

In a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, it was stated that an attempt at a "terrorist attack" by Ukraine against targets on Russian territory using RM-70 Vampire multiple launch rocket systems was thwarted around 23:00 Moscow time.

The statement said, "19 missiles were destroyed by air defense systems in the Belgorod region."

RUSSIAN ATTACKS ON UKRAINE

On the other hand, the Ukrainian Air Force announced that the Russians launched "Shahed" type UAVs from the Black Sea toward Ukraine's Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.

The Ukrainian press reported that sounds of explosions were heard in the cities of Kharkiv and Kryvyi Rih.
