Ukraine: Russia attacks capital Kyiv with UAVs
It has been reported that Russia attacked the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, as well as the Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Cherkasy regions, with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ballistic missiles.
The Ukrainian Air Force Command stated that Russia attacked Ukrainian territory overnight with 2 "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles and 16 "Shahed"-type UAVs.
The statement noted that 15 of the UAVs were shot down by air defense forces in the Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Cherkasy regions.
Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Serhiy Popko also stated in a post on the administration's social media account that the UAVs were launched at Kyiv from Russia's Kursk region, adding, "The UAVs passed through the Sumy and Cherkasy regions and entered Kyiv from the southwest. All enemy targets were destroyed by air defense forces."
Popko shared that there were no injuries or damage as a result of the attack on the capital.
Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper also stated in a post on his social media account that houses were damaged and 7 people, including 2 children, were injured in the UAV attack carried out by the Russian army on Odesa.
