Ukraine's statement on tanker attack: We have no involvement
In a post on the US-based social media platform X, Tykhyi responded to the statement made by Russia regarding the attack on the MIDVOLGA-2 tanker.
Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign AffairsSpokesperson George Tykhyistated in a post on his social media accountthathiscountry has no involvement in the attack on the MIDVOLGA-2 tanker.He expressed that his country had no connection to the attack.
Stating that his country has noconnection to the incidents involving the ship in question, Tykhyi stated the following:
"Ukraine has noconnection to this incident, and weofficially rejectthese types ofclaims by Russian propaganda."
Tykhyi noted the following in his message:
"Furthermore, the routeallegedly taken from Russia to Georgia via Turkey's free economic zonemakes nosenseand points to the possibility that Russiamay have orchestratedthis entire affair."
In a written statement issued by the Russian Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorflot),The statement reported that the MIDVOLGA-2 tanker was attacked by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and that the vessel did not sustain any major damage.
