Ukraine strikes Moscow with drones: One person killed

Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said that at least two high-rise apartment buildings were damaged by drone debris in the Ramenskoye district early Tuesday (September 10), causing several apartments to catch fire. It was reported that a woman lost her life in the blaze.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that emergency crews were dispatched to several locations in the area, including near Zhukovo airport and the Domodedovo district, where one of Moscow's largest airports is located. More than 30 flights were suspended in the region.

Russia reported that its air defense systems shot down more than 70 Ukrainian drones overnight, with at least 15 intercepted in and around Moscow.

SHOT and Baza, Telegram channels close to Russia's security services, released footage of flames rising from a multi-story residential building, announcing that five apartments had burned.

Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz of the Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine, said in a statement on Telegram, '59 enemy drones were intercepted and destroyed.'

Describing the attack as 'very large,' Bogomaz said there were no casualties or damage.

The official Russian news agency TASS announced that two more Ukrainian drones were shot down in the Tula region, south of Moscow.

The Ukrainian side has not made any comment regarding the developments.
