Ukrainian leader Zelenskyy announces visit to Turkey
Zelenskyy, who will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia, announced that he will also come to Turkey in the near future. Zelenskyy did not provide a clear date for when the Turkey visit will take place.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted in a video message sent to the Munich Security Conference that he would be visiting Saudi Arabia and the UAE. According to reports in the local press, Zelenskyy stated that he would also visit Turkey. The Ukrainian leader did not make a statement regarding when he would carry out his visit to Turkey.
Following the announcement that US President Donald Trump would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Saudi Arabia, Zelenskyy also stated that he would go to Riyadh. On the other hand, Zelenskyy emphasized that he has no plans to meet with Putin.
According to Habertürk's report, Zelenskyy, who participated in the conference in Munich via an internet connection, underlined that despite announcing he would go to Saudi Arabia, he does not plan to meet with Russian or US officials. Zelenskyy, who will pay official visits to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, said he would also come to Turkey. It is expected that Zelenskyy will come to Turkey following his meetings in the Middle East to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
White House officials, who reported that they are conducting talks with Russia to end the war in Ukraine, did not make a statement regarding whether they informed the Kyiv administration about this matter. In posts made on his social media account, Zelenskyy underlined that he learned about the talks between Russia and the US from the press.
