UN: Aid to Gaza dropped by 50 percent in February compared to last month

Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), made a statement on the X social media platform regarding the food shortage in Gaza.

Lazzarini stated that in order to end the food crisis in Gaza, a ceasefire must be declared and the siege must be lifted to allow aid to reach the region.

Pointing out that humanitarian aid entering Gaza in February decreased by 50 percent compared to the previous month, Lazzarini stated, "Aid should have increased, not decreased, to meet the growing needs of 2 million Palestinians living in desperate conditions."

The statement did not provide information on the exact amount of humanitarian aid that entered Gaza in January and February.

In a statement yesterday, Lazzarini noted that they have been unable to deliver aid to northern Gaza, which Israel is forcibly starving and depriving of water, since January 23.

AID CANNOT BE DELIVERED

Due to obstructions by Israel, which is being tried for genocide at the International Court of Justice, sufficient aid cannot be delivered to the region. Palestinians are struggling against Israeli attacks on one hand and deepening hunger every day on the other.

Palestinians fleeing Israel's attacks are struggling to survive in makeshift tents under limited means and difficult conditions.

It is reported that Palestinians in northern Gaza, who cannot even find bread, are consuming animal feed because they cannot find flour.
