UN emphasizes Gaza

Stating that the death toll in Gaza has reached another horrific and shameful milestone, Martin Griffiths expressed that the events that led to the escalation of tension were ugly, and that the events that followed were unconscionable.

TOUCHED ON THE REFLECTIONS OF THE WAR

Griffiths underlined that all parties must fulfill their obligations under international humanitarian law and protect civilians, and stated that all hostages must be released.

Noting that the conflict continues despite multilateral condemnation, the physical and mental toll, and immense destruction, Griffiths used the expression, "The fact that this brutal conflict in Gaza has lasted so long will remain an indelible stain on our collective conscience." Griffiths reiterated his call for the conflict to end.

1.9 million Palestinians, displaced under a blockade at gunpoint in Gaza, are struggling to survive without shelter, food, clean water, medicine, and healthcare services.
