UN: There is nowhere left to go in Gaza

UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths stated in a post on his X (Twitter) account that civilians in Rafah have had their homes destroyed, their streets mined, and their neighborhoods bombed, and that they have been displaced for months despite bombs, hunger, and disease.

In his post, Griffiths included the questions, "Where can they go? How can they stay safe?" and underscored that there is nowhere left to go in Gaza.

Pointing out that civilians must be protected, Griffiths also emphasized that shelter, food, and healthcare services must be provided.

Martin Griffiths stated that more than 1 million people in Rafah are being subjected to unimaginable suffering.

In a written statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, it had been stated that "it is impossible to achieve the goal of the war without eliminating the 4 Hamas battalions in the southern Gaza Strip."

The statement conveyed that Benjamin Netanyahu had "instructed the Israel Defense Forces and the security establishment to prepare a joint plan for the evacuation of the population and the destruction of the Hamas battalions to be presented to the government."
