UN: 'Women in Gaza urgently need a ceasefire'
UN Women Executive Director Bahous shared a message on her social media account regarding women in Gaza. Bahous stated, "Women in Gaza urgently need a ceasefire."
United Nations (UN) Women Executive Director Sima Bahous, pointing to the hardships faced by women in Gaza, stated, "Women in Gaza urgently need a ceasefire."
Bahous shared the message on her X social media account.
Stating that women in Gaza are giving birth without water, Bahous noted that there is also a lack of food, tents, and toilets.
Bahous emphasized that the living conditions of women in Gaza are unimaginably dire, stressing, "Women in Gaza urgently need a ceasefire."
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced that an average of 63 women are killed every day in Israel's attacks on Gaza, 37 of whom are mothers leaving their families behind.
While more than 9 thousand women have lost their lives in the attacks that the Israeli Army has been carrying out on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, 23 thousand women have been injured.
In the Gaza Strip, where Israel has collapsed the healthcare system, the fact that approximately 60 thousand pregnant women cannot access health services also endangers the lives of both Palestinian women and their babies.
