Unexploded artillery shell hits UNIFIL headquarters in Lebanon
An unexploded artillery shell struck the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters in southern Lebanon, causing material damage. In the same area, a French soldier lost their life in a traffic accident.
In a statement released by UNIFIL, it was reported that an artillery shell that fell on the UNIFIL headquarters in the town of Chamaa in southern Lebanon did not explode, caused no injuries, and resulted in minor material damage.
It was stated that the area was quickly secured and the artillery shell was detonated in a controlled manner by bomb disposal experts.

FRENCH UNIFIL SOLDIER DIES IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT
In another statement from UNIFIL, it was reported that a convoy heading to the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura, southern Lebanon, was involved in a traffic accident near the town of Chamaa.
It was reported that a French peacekeeper lost their life in the traffic accident on the coastal road, and 3 others were slightly injured.
