US: 6 of 7 missiles launched by Iran intercepted

The US military has released a statement regarding the attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain.

In the statement issued by the US Central Command (CENTCOM), it was noted that the attacks were carried out by Iran as a retaliatory measure, stating, "Iran launched 7 ballistic missiles toward Kuwait and Bahrain hours after CENTCOM shot down 4 Iranian-made one-way attack UAVs launched toward the Strait of Hormuz."

The statement, which indicated that initial assessments show the attacks did not cause any damage, said, "Initial assessments indicate that 6 of the missiles launched by Iran were intercepted and the 7th missile failed to reach its target. As of now, there is no information regarding any harm to US personnel, and Iran's claims that it damaged the US 5th Fleet headquarters in Bahrain do not reflect the truth."

CENTCOM: OUR FORCES ARE READY

The statement emphasized that CENTCOM elements are operating at a high level of alert, adding, "Our forces remain ready to continue responding to Iran's unprovoked aggression in self-defense."

CENTCOM also shared footage with the public earlier in the day of US operations conducted against Iran's Goruk and Qeshm islands.

TENSIONS INCREASED WITH RECENT ATTACKS

CENTCOM had previously announced that 4 Iranian-made UAVs sent toward the Strait of Hormuz were shot down and that Iranian coastal surveillance radar facilities on Goruk and Qeshm islands were struck for defensive purposes against potential new attacks.

Following these developments, Kuwait and Bahrain had become the focus of claims that Iran had launched a retaliatory attack.
