Sullivan stated that 4 Israeli hostages were rescued from Hamas in a "successful operation" during the attacks, in which at least 210 Palestinian civilians were reported killed, that the individuals in question had been removed from Gaza, and that they "congratulate" the Israeli forces.

Noting that the US provided support "in various ways" to the rescue of the Israeli hostages held by Hamas, Sullivan said, "The United States supports all efforts to secure the release of hostages still held by Hamas; these efforts include ongoing ceasefire negotiations and other tools."

Sullivan stated that a ceasefire in Gaza is important both for the release of hostages and for the unhindered entry of aid into Gaza, and called for a ceasefire and the release of hostages as soon as possible.

US PROVIDED ASSISTANCE

Speaking to the American CNN channel, an unnamed American official made an assessment regarding the operation.

The official stated that the US provided support for the rescue of the Israeli hostages, saying, "A US cell in Israel supported the efforts to rescue the 4 Israeli hostages and worked with Israeli forces on the operation."

The American official did not provide details regarding the support in question.

EU CONDEMNED

European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell made a statement on his social media account regarding the attacks carried out by the Israeli army on the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of 210 people.

Stating, "The reports from Gaza of another massacre of civilians are appalling. We condemn this in the strongest terms. The bloodshed must end immediately," Borrell noted that US President Joe Biden's 3-phase plan is the only way to a lasting ceasefire.

210 DEAD, 400 WOUNDED...

The Israeli army had announced that it carried out attacks on various points in the central Gaza Strip and that a total of 4 Israeli hostages were rescued alive in two different areas.

The Government Media Office in Gaza had reported that 210 people were killed and at least 400 people were wounded in the attack carried out by the Israeli army on the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in the central Gaza Strip.
