US issues 'laws of war' warning to Israel
In a statement, US President Joe Biden reiterated that Israel has the right to defend itself, while also noting that it must act in accordance with the laws of war.

Calling on Israel to act according to the laws of war, Biden said, “Prime Minister Netanyahu and I discussed how Israel should act according to the laws of war. This means protecting civilians in the best way possible in war. We cannot ignore innocent Palestinians who only want to live in peace. For this reason, I have reached an agreement for the first humanitarian aid shipment to Palestinian civilians in Gaza.”
Reiterating that peace between Palestine and Israel depends on a two-state solution, Biden said, “We cannot give up on a two-state solution.”
