US President Trump extends deadline given to Iran!
US President Donald Trump announced that he has extended the deadline he gave to Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz to commercial vessels until April 8.
United States President Donald Trump took his pressure on Iran a step further in a post on social media. Trump announced that he has extended the deadline he granted to the Tehran administration to open the Strait of Hormuz to the passage of commercial vessels until April 8. The US President stated that he moved this decision to 8:00 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday (03:00 Wednesday, April 8, Turkey time).
Trump had previously drawn attention to the consequences Iran could face if it did not open the strait within 48 hours. In his latest statement via social media, he gave messages that increased tensions.
The decision to extend the deadline came immediately after the second pilot, who was on the US warplane that crashed in Iran, was also rescued. In a post he made on the morning of the incident, Trump described this rescue move as "one of the most courageous search and rescue operations in US history" and announced that the second pilot had been safely evacuated.
NEW DETAILS IN THE PLANE CRISIS
On April 3, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it had shot down an American warplane in the central parts of the country with air defense systems. Claims that the plane's pilot might have been captured and taken prisoner came to the agenda in the Iranian press. US officials also confirmed that the plane had crashed and stated that one crew member had been rescued, while the other was within the scope of search and rescue efforts.
Additionally, the New York Times from the US media reported that a second American plane was shot down near the Strait of Hormuz at almost the same time as the F-15 type warplane. According to the report, the pilot of the second plane managed to survive the crash.
