US President Trump on 'Gaza plan': We are in absolutely no rush

US President Donald Trump is hosting Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba at the White House.

Speaking to reporters before his meeting with Ishiba, Trump addressed the Gaza plan that has caused widespread global reaction. Trump said, "We are in absolutely no rush to move the plan forward."

TRUMP HAD STATED HE WOULD TAKE OVER THE GAZA STRIP

US President Trump had argued that Gazans would not want to return to the region if they had a safe alternative, suggesting that Gazans could be resettled in other countries.

Furthermore, stating that "the US will take over the Gaza Strip," Trump had said, "We will own it and be responsible for removing all dangerous unexploded ordnance and other weapons from the field, clearing the site and getting rid of destroyed buildings, and providing economic development that will provide an unlimited number of jobs and housing for the people of the region."

Yesterday, Trump also posted on his social media account, "Palestinians, like Chuck Schumer, will be resettled in much safer and beautiful residential areas in the region with new and modern homes.

They will have a chance to be truly happy, safe, and free. The US, working with great teams from all over the world, will begin construction work slowly and carefully, which will be one of the largest and most magnificent developments of its kind in the world. US troops will not be needed. Stability will prevail for the region."
