US soldier arrested for 'theft' in Russia

It has been announced that a US soldier has been arrested by the decision of a court in the Russian city of Vladivostok.
State news agency RIA, citing the court's press office, reported that the soldier, Gordon Black, will remain in custody until July 2.
According to the Reuters news agency, a court spokesperson stated, "The Pervomaisky District Court in Vladivostok has ordered the arrest of American soldier Gordon Black in accordance with the article (of the Russian criminal code) governing the crime of 'theft'." The US Army stated yesterday that they had been informed of the soldier's detention. The Army did not officially release the soldier's name.
A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, shared that the soldier was stationed in South Korea. Another US official stated that the soldier is accused of stealing from a woman. Russia's daily Izvestia newspaper, citing an unnamed source, reported that a sergeant stationed in South Korea had met a woman from Vladivostok online, that the two had lived together for a time, and that the soldier had stolen 200,000 rubles (2,196 US dollars) from the woman.
