US statement on Iran operation: 'Big waves are coming, we are just getting started'

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine appeared before the cameras for the second time regarding the military operations launched against Iran. In the statements, it was stated that the American navy targeted and sank an Iranian warship in international waters with a torpedo attack.

Secretary Hegseth noted that "an Iranian warship that thought it was safe in international waters was sunk by a torpedo from an American submarine," pointing out that this marks the first time since World War II that an enemy warship has been sunk in such an attack. Mentioning that the sunken ship was named after Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, who was killed by the US in 2020, Hegseth said, "I think the president got him twice."

Pentagon officials emphasized in the briefing that the US and Israeli air forces aim to establish absolute control over Iranian airspace in the coming days. Indicating that the operations will accelerate, Hegseth used the following expressions:

“As President Trump said, bigger waves are coming. We are just getting started. We are not slowing down, we are speeding up.”

In this context, it was stated that the US will expand its attacks on Iran's missile program, military industrial facilities, and military commanders. The Secretary emphasized that military operations are never a 'fair fight' and never will be, stating, "We hit them while they are weak, and that is how it should be."

Recent developments indicate that tensions in the region continue to rise rapidly and that diplomatic and military activity is expected to increase in the coming days.
