US: We do not believe what is happening in Gaza is a genocide
US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated that the administration of US President Joe Biden does not view Israel's killing of Palestinians in Gaza as a genocide, saying, "We do not believe what is happening in Gaza is a genocide."
US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan made statements regarding Israel's ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip during a press briefing.
Sullivan stated that the administration of US President Joe Biden does not view Israel's killing of Palestinians in Gaza as a genocide, saying, "We do not believe what is happening in Gaza is a genocide. We reject that proposition outright."
"CONTINUED EFFORTS TO SECURE THE RELEASE OF HOSTAGES"
Noting that Palestinians caught in the middle of the war are in "hell," Sullivan stated that it would be a mistake for Israel to conduct a major military operation in Rafah.
Sullivan indicated that the US continues to work toward a ceasefire and the release of hostages, adding that he could not predict when such a deal might be reached or if it would be reached at all.
