US: We have no involvement in the Damascus attack

US National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby made statements regarding Israel's airstrike on the Iranian Consulate in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

Kirby said, "I cannot predict what the Supreme Leader and the Revolutionary Guards will or will not do. Let me be clear. We had nothing to do with the attack in Damascus. We were not involved in any way."

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the airstrike carried out by Israel on the Iranian Consulate yesterday, 13 people lost their lives, including Zahedi, the Commander of the Quds Force responsible for Syria and Lebanon of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, as well as Zahedi's deputies Mohammad Hadi Rahimi and Hossein Aminullah.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi had stated that Israel's airstrike targeting the Iranian Consulate would not go "unanswered."

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, noting that the chargé d'affaires of the Swiss Embassy in Tehran was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the attack, had stated, "We sent an important message to the US, which is a supporter of the Zionist Israeli regime, on this matter. The US must take responsibility and be held accountable."
