Protesting Israel's war in the Gaza Strip, Greek port workers have blocked ammunition that was set to be loaded onto ships for transport to Israel. The ammunition remained at the port without being loaded onto the vessels.

As a result of the protest led by a Greek port workers' union, 21 tons of ammunition prepared for Israel remained at the port of Piraeus. Speaking to Reuters, port union workers stated that the cargo arrived from North Macedonia and was planned to be transferred to Israel via the Marshall Islands.

The port workers' union had previously called on dockworkers to stop the shipment of ammunition to Israel. A union official stated in a post on Facebook, "We will no longer allow the port of Piraeus to become a springboard for war," adding, "We will fight for peace... not for Greece's contributions to the war!"
