As tensions and mutual threats between the US and Iran continue to escalate, an unnamed Iranian source has made significant statements to the British press.
The Iranian source stated that message exchanges between Iran and the US are continuing through Pakistan, but that Tehran will not show any flexibility unless Washington abandons its demand for "surrender under pressure."
The source noted that Qatar is conveying Iran's messages to the US and regional countries, and said that if the US targets energy facilities in Iran, "the entire region and Saudi Arabia will be plunged into total darkness due to Iran's retaliatory attacks."
Furthermore, warning that regional consequences could become even more severe if tensions escalate, the source stated, "If the situation spirals out of control, Iran's allies will also close the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait."
