White House statement on ceasefire: 'Trump ensured the opening of the Strait of Hormuz'

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a written statement regarding the 2-week ceasefire with Iran announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Reminding that Trump had predicted from the beginning that Operation Epic Fury, launched against Iran, would last 4 to 6 weeks, Leavitt said, "Thanks to the incredible capabilities of our warriors, we achieved our primary military objectives in 38 days and exceeded those goals."

"TRUMP AND OUR MILITARY MADE THIS VICTORY POSSIBLE"

Using the phrase "This is a victory for the U.S. made possible by President Trump and our incredible military" regarding the ceasefire, Leavitt assessed, "The success of our military provided the U.S. with the maximum possible leverage, allowing President Trump and his team to engage in tough negotiations that opened the door to a diplomatic solution and long-term peace."

"TRUMP ENSURED THE OPENING OF THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ"

Emphasizing that Trump "ensured the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz," Leavitt stated, "Never underestimate President Trump’s ability to successfully defend America’s interests and establish peace." Leavitt added that detailed information on the matter would be provided to the public tomorrow morning by U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine.
