White House: Everyone who enters the US illegally will be considered a criminal
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated, "Everyone who enters the US illegally will be considered a criminal."
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made statements regarding US President Donald Trump's immigration policy during a press briefing. Leavitt recalled that on his first day in office, President Trump declared a national emergency and signed an executive order to end the "catch and release" policy at the southern border, noting that this decision clearly demonstrates the US's determination to ensure border security on the international stage.
Leavitt delivered tough messages, particularly regarding the fight against illegal immigration, emphasizing that anyone who enters the US illegally will be considered a "criminal." Leavitt stated that the Trump administration is working in cooperation with all federal agencies to strengthen border security and that, in this context, the process for completing the construction of the border wall has been accelerated.
Sharing current data on the operations of ICE and CBP (Customs and Border Protection), Leavitt stated that many individuals involved in violent crimes among illegal immigrants have been arrested in recent days. Citing examples such as the detention of a terror suspect in New York, an individual who abused a minor in San Francisco, and an immigrant convicted of second-degree murder in Boston, Leavitt emphasized that these operations once again prove that the Trump administration prioritizes the safety of US citizens.
Leavitt stated that as a result of negotiations between President Trump and Colombia, the repatriation of deported immigrants to their home countries has been accelerated, and that this success is an indicator that the US has regained respect on the international stage.
PRESS CREDENTIALS TO BE ISSUED TO INFLUENCERS AND CONTENT CREATORS
Touching on media access and transparency, Leavitt drew attention to the importance of the new media era and announced that the application process for White House press credentials has been opened for independent journalists, podcasters, social media influencers, and content creators. Referring to research indicating a decline in trust in traditional media, Leavitt stated that they aim to reach a wider audience with President Trump's messages and announced that 440 press credentials revoked by the previous administration will be reinstated.
"THE GOLDEN AGE OF THE US HAS BEGUN"
Addressing economic reforms, Leavitt detailed the steps President Trump has taken to reduce the cost of living for the American people, stating that Trump declared a national emergency on energy policies last week to lower energy costs, and has also taken comprehensive decisions to ease federal regulations and control inflation. Leavitt said, "President Trump is back, and the golden age of the US has begun."
