White House statement on Ukraine! 'Territorial concessions will be required'

White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz said in a statement to ABC News that a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine would require the country to cede a portion of its territory in exchange for security guarantees.

When asked about his previous remarks regarding the discussion of territorial issues within the framework of negotiations for a resolution to the Ukraine crisis, Waltz replied, "An option such as territory in exchange for future security guarantees is being envisioned."

"DETERMINED FOR PEACE"

Waltz also underscored that U.S. President Donald Trump is determined to achieve lasting peace. Addressing Ukraine's potential NATO membership, Waltz said he views it as an extremely low probability:

Ukraine becoming a permanent member of NATO is an extremely low probability, and this is the view not only of the U.S. but also of many other countries.
