WHO: Access to healthcare and the right to a dignified life in Gaza are nearly impossible

WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean Director Ahmed Al-Mandhari drew attention to the fact that Palestinians in Gaza are deprived of their most basic human rights in posts shared on the WHO's X social media account.

"IT HAS BECOME NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE"

Al-Mandhari stated, "The people of Gaza were struggling to access healthcare even before the recent attacks. Now, the right to medical care and to live a dignified life, which are basic human rights, has become nearly impossible."

Emphasizing that an unprecedented and horrific crisis is unfolding in Gaza and that civilians, healthcare and humanitarian aid workers, and patients are exposed to great dangers, Al-Mandhari noted that the "Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone" is facing the largest humanitarian emergency in the world.

Al-Mandhari expressed that international humanitarian law and the rules established to distinguish humans from other living beings must be respected and that this catastrophe must be brought to an immediate end.
