WHO statement on Gaza: We have been unable to reach it for 12 days

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that it has canceled a planned aid delivery to Al-Awda Hospital in northern Gaza for the fourth time since December 26, and that it has been unable to reach northern Gaza for 12 days.

A statement regarding hospitals in northern Gaza was made on the X social media account of the WHO's Palestine Office.

The statement reported that medical supply deliveries planned for hospitals in northern Gaza, including Al-Awda Hospital, have been canceled for the 4th consecutive time since December 26.

Stating that it has become "almost impossible" to deliver medical supplies to northern Gaza in particular in a regular and safe manner due to heavy bombardment and communication disruptions, the statement used the phrase, "We have been unable to reach northern Gaza for 12 days."

The statement reiterated the call for continuous access for humanitarian aid to Gaza and the active protection of civilians and health services, while also delivering a message for an "immediate ceasefire."

Noting that most hospitals are suffering from staff shortages, the statement included the views of Dr. Mohamed Obied from Al-Awda Hospital.

Obied stated that the wounded are only able to reach doctors days or weeks after being injured, and that this situation reduces the chances of saving their limbs.
