Wildfires in Los Angeles: 1,200 people evacuated

It has been reported that 1,200 people have been evacuated as a result of a rapidly spreading wildfire near the city of Los Angeles in the U.S. state of California.

In a statement made by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), it was stated that the wildfire near the city of Los Angeles has spread over an area of more than 12,000 acres.

The statement noted that 1,200 people in the affected residential areas have been evacuated and that firefighting crews are on standby in the areas where the fire has spread.

No statement was made regarding the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, the statement warned the public that high temperatures and low humidity levels are expected to continue, and that further evacuation orders may be issued.

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles has also issued a "red flag warning" due to high winds and low humidity.
