Will Elon Musk serve in Trump's cabinet? They are going to give him that job...

Billionaire John Paulson, who is expected to become Treasury Secretary if Republican candidate Donald Trump is elected president in the US, stated that if appointed, he would work in that direction with Elon Musk, who has declared that "2 trillion dollars could be saved in the government budget."

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Paulson noted that if Trump appoints him as Treasury Secretary, implementing tax cuts would be one of his priorities.

Expressing that he would work with Musk, one of the names expected to be given a role if Trump is elected, to cut government spending, Paulson reported that he specifically plans to eliminate government subsidies provided to companies operating in the green energy sector.

Noting that he would also make regulations in the fields of trade and energy, Paulson stated that he would work with Trump on "encouraging energy production so that the US can be the dominant producer in the energy field" and "introducing strategic customs duties."

Furthermore, Paulson stated that the goal of the customs duties is to ensure that US-based companies continue to manufacture within the country.

Paulson, whose total wealth has reached 3.8 billion dollars, is known for his closeness to Trump and other Republicans.

Trump had said that if he wins the elections on November 5, he would establish a "government efficiency commission" chaired by Elon Musk. Following this statement by Trump, Musk had used the expression, "I look forward to serving America if the opportunity arises," in a post on his X account.

Musk had also noted at a rally held in New York to support Trump that "at least 2 trillion dollars could be saved" from the government budget.
