The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed 493 Israeli attacks on health facilities in Palestinian territories since October 7. Richard Peeperkorn, the WHO representative in the Palestinian territories, made statements during an online press conference regarding the situation of hospitals in Gaza, which are under intense Israeli attacks and blockade.
Peeperkorn stated that medical aid supplies were delivered to the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital and Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, but noted that they only provided medical supplies due to security concerns. He stated that only 9 out of 36 hospitals in Gaza are partially operational and that there are no functional hospitals left in the north. He noted that over 20 thousand people have been killed in the conflicts in Gaza so far and reiterated the WHO's "call for a humanitarian ceasefire."
