World reacts to assassination attempt on Trump: That leader blames the 'international left'

An armed assassination attempt was carried out against former US President Donald Trump during his rally in Pennsylvania. 

While Trump was wounded in the ear during the attack, the attacker, who was reported to be 20 years old, was neutralized.

FBI official Kevin Rojek announced that 1 person at the rally lost their life and 2 others are in critical condition.

Following the assassination attempt, messages of condemnation poured in from world leaders.

"FRANCE SHARES THE ANGER OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE"

French President Emmanuel Macron, in a statement following the assassination attempt, said, "France shares the shock and anger of the American people." 

Macron's message also included the following statements:

"What we saw last night in Pennsylvania is appalling and wrong. It is a relief that former President Trump is safe and survived the assassination attempt. Our hearts are with the innocent spectators who were killed and seriously injured. We reject political violence..."

IRELAND: POLITICAL VIOLENCE HAS NO PLACE IN OUR SOCIETY

Irish leader Simon Harris condemned the assassination with these words:

"I am horrified by the assassination attempt on Donald Trump at his rally in Pennsylvania. I wish him a full and speedy recovery. Political violence has no place in our society! My thoughts are with all the victims of this attack!"

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Sunday that he was "appalled by the shocking scenes" at the rally and offered his best wishes to Trump.

The British leader said, "Political violence of any kind has no place in our societies and my thoughts are with all the victims of this attack."

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he was "disgusted" by the shooting.

In his message, Trudeau said, "Political violence is never acceptable. My thoughts are with former President Trump, those at the event, and all Americans."

EUROPEAN UNION

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said he was shocked by the news of the attack.

In his message, Borrell stated, "Once again, we are witnessing unacceptable acts of violence against political representatives."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who began his words by saying "Deeply concerned by the attack on my friend," continued as follows:

"I strongly condemn the incident. Violence has no place in politics and democracies. I wish him a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with Trump's family, the injured, and the American people..."
