Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) meeting held at Germany's Ramstein Air Base on Friday, called on Western allies to allow Ukraine to use long-range missiles to strike targets inside Russia and to increase pressure on Moscow to end the war.

Addressing the UDCG meeting, Zelenskyy said, 'We need to have this long-range capability not only on the occupied territory of Ukraine, but also on the Russian territory, so that Russia is motivated to seek peace.' He added, 'Russia must be struck with long-range missiles.'

In his speech, Zelenskyy stated, 'We need to make Russian cities and even Russian soldiers think about what they need: peace or Putin?'

The U.S. pledged an additional 250 million dollars in military aid to Ukraine, a decision announced by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin at the UDCG (also informally known as the Ramstein group) meeting.

The UDCG meeting regularly brings together representatives from approximately 50 countries that have been supplying weapons to Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Speaking at the meeting, U.S. Secretary of Defense Austin stated that Ukraine's increasing ammunition needs would be met to keep pace with the war. Austin also emphasized that Ukraine's weapons capacity would be increased.
